Welcome to Our School I am delighted to introduce you to St Mary the Virgin Church of England School in Hartfield, East Sussex. We are a small, friendly rural school in the centre of the lovely village of Hartfield. Surrounded by the beautiful countryside of the Weald, we are still easily accessible for those living in Edenbridge, East Grinstead, Tunbridge Wells and Crowborough, as well as across the Ashdown Forest. Our vision is to widen the horizons of everyone in our school community by nurturing a real love of learning, whist developing Christian values and a respect for others and their beliefs. Alongside this, we promote excellence in all that we do throughout the school community. We aim to develop each and every child in their unique way, providing opportunities for them to acquire new skills, intellectually, physically, spiritually and socially. The opportunity for artistic expression is particularly encouraged and art and music play an important role throughout the school. This has been recognised by the award of the Gold Artsmark. Our excellence in sporting achievement has also been recognised with the Sport England award, Active Mark Gold. We aim to cultivate a warm and positive relationship between home and school, and we benefit from the support received from our parents and the wider community. I look forward to introducing you to our school, staff and pupils. Please contact me if you wish to arrange a visit or have any queries. Pam
